Incorporating post-punk angular riffs, visceral lyrics, layers of synth textures and propelling drum beats, ADMIN shape-shifts into a singular musical concept that hits with grit, precision and connectivity.  Live shows are ADMIN's natural habitat. In a relatively short lifespan, they have supported Of Montreal, Pure Adult & ISTA to go along with tours as well as some words/press from Brooklyn Vegan, Under the Radar & others. ADMIN aims to free your mind and move your body.

Post-punk outfit ADMIN takes a kinetic turn with their new darkwave dance remix of “Marathon Times”, created by the band’s own guitarist Amelia Hazen (aka Trash Moth), the remix transforms a brooding tempo into a hypnotic track built for a midnight dance floor. 

While the original version is driven by a restraint and a shadowy atmosphere, this one has been rebuilt with dynamic percussion, pulsing synths and a relentless groove. The result lands somewhere between the icy pulse of New Order, the dark romanticism of Boy Harsher with traces of Depeche Mode’s sombre club sensibility.

“I first had the impulse to make a remix of Marathon Times when we used a 2x sped-up version of the original song to accomplish the music video’s slo-mo effect.” says Hazen. “While that version was kind of manic, it made me think that the original had a lot of untapped energy to offer. Every sound I selected from drums to bass to atmospheric effects had to be something that was able to carry that energy; I applied the practice that less is more, and after building it up across a few concepts, made myself cut out anything that wasn’t serving the song.”

The result preserves the tension while pushing the track towards the dancefloor; a collision of post-punk grit, infectious darkwave atmosphere, and palpable electric propulsion. What was an intimate journey now moves with urgency into a crowded masquerade, keeping the darkness intact while turning up the momentum.
